Jenny Ioakim is an artist working in Kedington, Suffolk, creating paintings in oil, and drawings in charcoal. Working from the visual stimulus around her, people the garden anything she can find that triggers inspiration.

She rediscovered the depth of colour and vibrancy in oils after years of working in acrylic. It has taken a while but it seems her true drivers have always been the process rather than the finished piece. The smell, texture and feel of the paint and the raw quality of charcoal and the way these move around the canvas or paper. Jenny is generally surprised at the outcome, every piece of work is like a creation she wasn’t really expecting. The images boldly look out at the viewer with a love of paint, colour and messy graphite or charcoal

She recently joined the Cambridge Open Studios and will be exhibiting her space in 2021. A newcomer to Instagram means Jenny posts things, but not too often. Past exhibitions have taken place in Murray Edwards College, Cambridge and Corn Exchange Saffron Walden with commissions adorning local and London houses/restaurants and even a couple of commissions as far away as Kenya and New York.

Jenny Ioakim studied Art foundation, East Herts College, and Design for Print, Ware college.
